Jiwon Amy Yoo is a 14-year-old freshman in Sunset High School in Portland, Oregon. She began studying the cello at the age of ten and currently studies with Hyun-Jin Kim. She has been in the Portland Youth Philharmonic Association for four years, and recently started her second year in the Portland Youth Conservatory Orchestra. Although Jiwon hasn’t participated in many competitions yet, she’s currently preparing for upcoming district and state events. Jiwon values music as a way to connect with others. Her musical journey introduced her to meet new people who share the same passion as her, and is excited to join Project Prelude to continue her connections with other musicians
