Artistic Regions
Overview
At the core of Project Prelude’s artistic regions is an innovative, cost-free training program that engages high school musicians to provide weekly group instruction to youth from underserved populations. A robust instrument loaning program provides each student with a personal instrument for the entire year. Through a comprehensive curriculum centered around performance, music theory, body awareness, collaboration, and citizen artistry, students are prepared to present a culminating concert at the end of the year for their community. It is the organization’s philosophy that the benefits of an instrumental music education extend far beyond the classroom, enhancing the executive functioning and cognitive development skills of students, while developing them into compassionate and collaborative learners.
