Andrew Lee
Vice President of Marketing and Communications
Andrew Lee, a 18-year-old senior at Sunset High School in Portland, Oregon, has played the violin for 11 years and currently studies with Carol Sindell. Since joining the Portland Youth Philharmonic in 2021, Andrew has served as the assistant principal second violin, having previously held the position of concertmaster in the Portland Youth Conservatory Orchestra (PYCO). He is also the co-founder of the Euphonos Ensemble, a group dedicated to spreading the joy of music throughout the community.
As a soloist, Andrew has played with the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, the Oregon Mozart Players Symphony Orchestra, and the Jewish Community Orchestra. He has been featured in the 2023 Eugene Symphony Park Concert Summer Series, the 2025 Oregon Mozart Players Da Capo concert, and the 2024 Jewish Community Orchestra Young Artist Showcase. He has earned first place in the 2024 ASTA Senior Competition, first place in the 2025 Oregon Mozart Player Young Soloist Competition, third place in the 2023 and 2025 Oregon State Solo Contest, and the 2022 ASTA Junior Competition, and was a winner of the 2024 Jewish Community Orchestra Young Artist Competition. Additionally, he was named an alternate winner in the 2021 MTNA Junior String Competition and received an Honorable Mention in the 2024 MTNA Senior String Competition. He has had masterclasses with Christine Lim and Michael Jorgensen.
Andrew is a 2023 National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute graduate at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, where he studied with Jennifer Kim. He attended the Center Stage Strings Institute at the University of Michigan in 2024, where he studied with Elbert Tsai. This summer, he attended the Philadelphia International Music Solo Performance Preparation Festival, where he studied with Yu-Ting Chen, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Violin Workshop, where he studied with Michael Jorgensen and Dan Qiao. His orchestral leadership roles include serving as associate concertmaster of the 2023 Oregon All-State Orchestra and being a member of the 2023 All-Northwest Orchestra
