Cadence Chen

Cadence Chen is a 16-year-old violist and a junior at Syosset High School in Long Island, New York. She began playing viola at the age of eight and currently studies with Victoria Park and Anna-Marie Petersen. She is involved with multiple music clubs at her school, such as Syosset High School's Chamber Music Club and Tri-M.

Cadence is involved with New York's Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, where she has played in MYO's Principal Orchestra since 2020. She has also participated in past All County and LISFA festivals beginning in 2018, where she has been principal violist. Most recently, she has been selected to perform at the New York All-State Conference in December 2023.

A supporter of musical education, Cadence looks forward to serving as a division director.
