Leena Karmarkar attends Lincoln High School and is in her senior year working on the International Baccalaureate Diploma. She studies violin with Lisa Hansen and is in her eighth year with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony. Currently, she plays first violin in the Symphony Orchestra and is in her third year as a MYSfits member. Leena has played as concertmaster for MYS home concerts as well as internationally on their tour in Spain and Portugal.

Additionally, Leena has played along side members of the Oregon Symphony in their gala and in the Portland Chamber Orchestra. She has been featured as a guest on All Classical Radio’s On Deck With You Musicians and has been on their Thursdays at 3 program with MYSfits. Leena has received coaching from Clarisse Atcherson, Dorothy Ro from the Verona Quartet, Hamilton Cheifetz, members of A Far Cry, Kenji Bunch, Dr. Kara Eubanks, and members of the Oregon Symphony: Emily Cole and Marilyn de Oliveira. Leena is passionate about serving the community and passing on the gift of music to young children.
