Ellie Yoon

Ellie Yoon, a 13-year old at Camas High School, has been studying flute for 4 years and is currently a student of Dr. Sydney Carlson. Along with performing in MYS Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble, she was selected winner of the 2025 Oregon MTNA Junior Woodwind Competition and named alternate in MTNA’s 2026 Northwest Division Junior Woodwind. he earned First Prize in the 2026 Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, and placed third in the 2026 Greater Portland Flute Society Competition.

In her piano studies with Shinmyung Rho, Ellie was a winner of the 2026 Young Artists Debut! and the 2025 Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition. Her recent piano performances also include a Chamber Music Northwest masterclass with Jeewon Park and CMNW’s 2026 Prelude Performance, receiving Bronze in the 2026 Bellevue Symphony Concerto Competition and a Special Award from the 2026 Amadeus Chamber Orchestra.

Ellie is thankful to join Project Prelude and is really excited to spend time finding students’ love for music with her friends/mentors.
